Jewelry maker's mark identifier

Who made your jewelry?

Type what is stamped on the back, clasp, or inside the band, and we will match it to the designer or maker.

Or upload a photo of the mark

Take a close, well-lit photo of the stamp and we will try to read the letters and suggest possible makers. Your photo is sent securely to be read and is not stored.

Disclaimer: Results from a photo show who we suspect made the item based only on what is visible in the image. Worn, partial or unclear marks can resemble several makers, so this is not a confirmed identification. Compare against known marks and consult an expert before buying or selling.

Reading a tiny stamp

  1. Use a jeweler's loupe or your phone's macro mode, with light coming from the side.
  2. Type every letter you can see, even if part is worn. Skip "925" and "14K" alone; they show metal, not maker.
  3. If it is a symbol, describe it in plain words: crown, eagle, hammers, bird.
